I was watching a film from the 40s in which I saw a male
nurse in a hospital. Before that, I was unaware of the concept of male nurses.
I thought a nurse always has to be a woman. But that film changed my
perception. The film gave me the impetus to thought if male doctors can get
appointed in a hospital, then what stops hospitals from hiring male nurses. The
advantage of having male nurses is that they would be the best fit to handle
male issues properly. Understandably, not all female nurses understand male
problems. Also, male nurses at hospitals mean the right balance of male-female
ratio. If women can understand women related issues, then issues related to men
need to be addressed by men too.
If a male doctor can team up with female nurses, then what stops a female doctor to team up with male nurses? Having male nurses in the hospital assures male’s entry into the hospital industry. There are jobs in the hospital other than nursing where men get employed. Those jobs are getting performed by everyone- both male and female. And more women are getting hired to perform these jobs.
My final thought is that there shouldn’t be any bias over any gender for any job.
