Thought Leadership Shouldn’t Lead To Thought Policing

According to Wikipedia, a thought leader is an individual or firm that is recognized as an authority in a specialized field and whose expertise is sought and often rewarded. In short, thought leaders are those who change the mindset and behavior of a particular group of people with their expertise. Thought leaders work in bettering human lives with their knowledge and skill. As thought leaders can subtly change the behavioral pattern of people, it makes them responsible for what service they offer. Thought leaders can mesmerize people in the right way. But here is the catch!

Thought leaders should not become thought police. The idea of thought leadership should never lead to thought policing. Thought policing is surveillance. Thought policing is done by firms, big corporate houses, and even the government to control our minds. We, ordinary individuals, need thought leadership, not thought policing. Our behavioral patterns are already lying with Facebook or Google. So, we need guidance from the thought leaders on how to navigate thought police.

We don't need surveillance on what we're thinking. We need thought leaders who will guide us on how to beat the menace named thought policing. Thought leaders should help us to lead a quality life. So when we go to sleep at night, we should be able to de-clutter our minds from the provocations that haunted us throughout the day. The role of a thought leader is to demean or dismantle the thought police.
