Write The Truth

Write the truth- one of the cardinal rules for writers. I’ve read this at multiple places. I wonder how to write the truth. The bigger question what is truth. That no one knows. Truth gets interpreted by different people in different ways. So there is no such thing called ultimate truth. A truth might rattle a group of people and also please others. Now, I’ll be bragging a bit about myself. I wrote something in 2017 which has some truth value. To write that sentence, I took 4 years. I mean, after working for 4 years in advertising I realized the truth.

I won’t say it here what I wrote in 2017. But the subsequent chain of events helped me to understand that I was f**king right! That sentence gives me a push to write more truths. But I also understand that it is not easy to write truths because most have already expressed. The work of today’s writers is to identify those hidden truths and represent them in today's context.

I believe there are truths around us. We just fail to identify them. However, truth should reveal something which people have in their mind and wanted to say. I don’t want to make this piece philosophical but the truth is a simple thing that needs to be told simply.
